Life at Borga Nari,

While I was there it was initially very hard, I felt isolated as I didn't know the language and also as I didn't drive while there. I spent most of my time with the kids and it took 3 months to get the phone and internet connected. Once that happened I was much happier and able to contact my family and friends.

The lifestyle is completely different to Australia and it took time to adjust, in the end we came home because I worried about the health system there and also schooling for our daughter. Once we got back home and over the excitment of seeing everyone we realise that we should never have sold our Italian house as now we know that we want to return and live again. Luckily rustico farmhouses are easy to come by.

We have plans for a tourist retreat and a book about our adventures
Taking my In laws around Europe was a bit of a challange and we are all much closer for the experiance.
I am working on a blog about La Bella Italia

When Sam said “let’s go and live in Italy” I had an instant vision of rolling Tuscan hills and strolls around Florence with our perfectly presented children. Enjoying gelato and cafĂ© and taking in the delights of the Italy I fell in love with during my single backpacking days.

Of course I said “Why not?” So within months we had sold our house, car, and the majority of our possessions, arranged our wedding, celebrated both of our children’s birthdays, christened our son Luca, moved from Qld to Melbourne to celebrate all of the above and boarded the plane with no idea where we would end up just that we would be in Italia.

This image of Italy (that we had stuck on our fridge door along with the latest artwork from our kids) got us all onto that plane. For Sam and the kids it was the first time out of Australia. The journey to Italy really began with Sams dream to take his parents back to Calabria and Sicily, to find the homes where they were born and walk the donkey tracks he heard about from his Papa.

Our life together has mainly been separated into Aussie and Italian family gatherings with the two worlds joining together only a few times. Our trip to Italy was my chance to step directly into the lives of my beautiful Italian family, for our children to stand where their Nona and Nonno grew up. I wanted our children to experience their Italian heritage first hand. Viva Italia!

I am Lisa
We returned in 2006 from Italy where we lived for two years and renovated an old farmhouse in the Alps. I kept a journal of our travels and have thousands of images and hope to turn it all into a book one day soon. We plan to return to Italy in 2010 for an extended stay. I'll have to learn Italian this time for sure.

We have two children, a daughter Carina aged six and our son Luca aged four. We lost our first little boy Aaron when he was a day old.

We started in property eight years ago after going to a seminar by Robert Kiyosaki. We have learnt so much and have photos all over the office walls of our goals (thanks to Anthony Robbins). Sam and I went to a business and life coach and she was invaluable. She got the business on the right track and us as well. We have been doing Landmark Education (recommended by our business coach) which is great and helped me look at much of my life in a new way.I am inspired to get back to creating a book about our time in Italy. I plan a non fiction book including many of the images taken whilst there. If anyone can help with experiance in writing or publishing a book I would love to hear from you.
be happy
ciao
lisa
